Japanese in Beverly Hills, Bel Air, Brentwood & Westwood

Okonomiyaki (thick, savory Japanese pancakes filled with veggies, meat and noodles) may sound odd to the uninitiated, but not to fans of the Sawtelle Japantown branch of this Hiroshima-based restaurant. Fillings range from squid and shrimp to green onions, broccoli, and basil and cheese. Slather with sweet sauce and mayo, and wow!

If you're after noodles, Chinchikurin does a mean tsukemen (dipped ramen) and spicy tantanmen – add your desired level of heat with sansho pepper oil.
