With 70 miles of trails connecting two canyons, shaded by hulking oaks and sycamores, laced with seasonal creeks and blanketed with blooming chaparral in the upper reaches, there is plenty of excellent hiking and mountain biking to be had in Point Mugu State Park. The park has 5 miles of coastline too, but the beaches are better elsewhere.

It's set just past the Ventura County border, and a popular surf spot called County Line, which is not for beginners. The fire road that borders the campsites in Sycamore Canyon leads for 7.4 miles to Rancho Serra Vista, high in the hills, and is popular with mountain bikers.
