Houston Airport System has two airports.
George Bush Intercontinental Airport Located 22 miles north of the city center. It's a hub for United Airlines, with service by other major airlines to destinations worldwide. The confusing and poorly designed sprawl of gates and terminals can test the fortitude of even veteran travelers.
William P Hobby Airport Located 12 miles southeast of town, Hobby Airport is smaller and more manageable than George Bush Intercontinental Airport. It's a major hub for Southwest Airlines and has mostly domestic service.
Long-distance buses depart from the Greyhound Bus Terminal.
The Sunset Limited stops at the Amtrak Station three times a week en route between New Orleans and Los Angeles; Texas stops also include San Antonio and El Paso.
