Kulanaokuaiki Campground

Campground in Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National Park

This minimally developed campground down Hilina Pali Rd has eight walk-in sites tucked among the ohia where you can stare across the Kaʻu Desert at the glowing plume of Halemaʻumaʻu. Wheelchair accessible sites are closer to parking, but less private. Facilities include pit toilets and picnic tables, but no water. Campfires and pets prohibited (the latter to protect the nene).
