Maui Haleakala Volcano Sunrise Guided Bike Tour to Paia Bay

Your tour begins with pickup in the very early morning from hotels in Maui resort areas such as Wailea, Kaanapali, and Kapalua for the drive up to the summit of Haleakala inside Haleakala National Park (before starting the drive, enjoy coffee, juice, and snacks while listening to a safety briefing about your bike tour).During the van ride to the top of the volcano, your tour guide tells you about the history of Haleakala, its geology, and the rare plants and animals found only on Maui. Upon arrival at the House of the Sun Visitor Center, you will be escorted to the rim of Haleakala Crater for a view into one of the world's largest dormant volcanoes. Watch the sunrise, and then head down to a level of 6,500 feet (1,981 meters) to begin your bike tour; you'll be fitted with a bicycle and helmet by your guide.  Pedal downhill, riding along switchbacks, through Haleakala Ranch, and past Kula. Continue through the towns of Makawao and Paia, and finally reach the Pacific coast at Paia Bay Beach Park.

Haleakala Sunrise Bicycle Tour

Guests can enjoy this experience in an active way. Bike 26 miles (42 km) from the 6,500′ all the way down to the ocean at Paia town. Tour begins at our basecamp at 381 Baldwin Ave, Paia between 4:00-4:45am where we will start guests off with a hot or cold beverage and a snack and get your fleece Jackets and gloves.From our Office, we will transport guests to the 6,500′ level and your tour guide will provide you with the history of Haleakala, its geology, and the rare plants and animals found only on Maui. Watch the predawn colors from this location, and then you’ll be fitted with a bicycle and helmet to start your guided bike ride.Coast downhill, riding along switchbacks, through Haleakala Ranch, and past Kula. Continue through the towns of Makawao and Paia, and finally reach the Pacific coast at Paia town.We end our tour back at the basecamp approximately 9:30am.  From there you can hop in your car rental and do more adventures!  Paia is a great town!  There is shops, cafe's, beaches and were 20 minutes away from the famous Twin falls for a fresh water swim or the Bamboo forest for a hike.  There's so much to do.  The guests just love it!

Predawn-Morning Haleakala Bike Tour (from 6,500' to Sea-level)

Iao Valley, Ocean Vodka Distillery & Lavender Farm with lunch

Start with the famous Iao Valley recognized as a very special place for both its spiritual value and spectacular scenery followed by the Kepaniwai Park & Heritage Gardens, known for its unique and beautiful park with various ethnic groups of Hawaii by displaying a building for each one. Our second stop is at the Ocean Vodka Distillery and Farm. On this visit you learn about how the vodka is made from the sugar cane by using a mineral water and other fascinating facts including tasting the vodka at the end of the tour.  Areas covered in this tour are: Sustainable farming practices with its abundant fields of sugar cane; Green manufacturing processes in its 6,000 square foot solar-powered warehouse and bottling center; Organic spirits production using 60-foot column still distillation; and local history of sugar cane farming with species identification.
