Streams flowing from the San Jacinto Mountains sustain rich plant varieties in oases around Palm Springs. Home to Native American communities for centuries, these canyons are a hiker's delight. Follow the Palm Canyon trail to the world's largest oasis of fan-palm trees, the Murray Canyon trail to a seasonal waterfall or the Andreas Canyon trail to rock formations along a year-round creek.
From downtown Palm Springs, head south on Palm Canyon Dr (continue straight when the main road turns east) for about 2 miles to the reservation entrance. From here, it’s 3 miles up to the trading post and ticket booth.
