Top choice diner in Cincinnati

Located in a tough zone a few blocks from Findlay Market, family-run Tucker's has been feeding locals – African American, white, foodies, penniless, friars, drug dealers – since 1946. It's an archetypal diner, serving six-cheese omelets, shrimp and grits, biscuits and gravy, potatoes with bacon jam and other hulking breakfast dishes, along with several vegetarian dishes using ingredients sourced from the market.

Joe Tucker does the cookin'. Wife Carla does everything else. Try the goetta (pronounced get-uh), a herb-spiced, pork-and-oats breakfast sausage that's found only in Cincinnati.
