Good for families, dog walkers and waterfall junkies, this easy-to-moderate hike is a gorgeous half-day adventure for folks who want to explore the northern section of Cherokee National Forest. The 2.7-mile round-trip hike tracks photogenic Dry Creek. The trail is steep and rocky in parts, with a few minor stream crossings, but the reward is sweet: a 60ft-high fan-shaped waterfall.

Leashed pets okay.
