Join our whiskey prison distilling team on our VIP experience and you will spend at least 3 informative hours helping our distillation staff run the still, catch and evaluate the whiskey as it flows, as well as learn how we make our cuts. All guests must sign a liability waiver and will take home a commemorative bottle of Sun Dog, a Southern Grace Distilleries t-shirt and tasting glasses. Located in Mount Pleasant North Carolina come join our whiskey prison distilling team! Spend at least three hours helping our distillation staff run the still and catch and evaluate the whiskey as it flows. Learn how we make our cuts. Liability waiver required. Experience includes a commemorative bottle of Sun Dog, a Southern Grace Distilleries t-shirt and tasting glasses to take home.This tour is offered only Monday through Friday and must be booked at least 7 days in advance. Wear comfortable clothes, because it can get messy making whiskey. First you will get a briefing on safety procedures and how we make whiskey. Then you will join our team. Depending on the day, you may get to help them mash in the corn and barley to start fermentation or help fill barrels for bourbon. No matter the day, you will help assist a distiller as they run the still, catch and evaluate the liquor to determine what is of good enough quality to be put in one of our bottles. You finish the day with a tour of the old prison and we send you home with a commemorative package of gifts to help you remember your day as a distiller's assistant.
