This out-and-back jaunt is one of the more difficult hikes around Black Moshannon State Park, although we'd still rate it as only moderately difficult. Depending on where you exit, it's a roughly 8-mile trek that passes deep woods, beaver ponds and wetlands (bring waterproof shoes) – as good a tableau of Central Pennsylvania flora as you'll find.

The Moss-Hanne trail connects to the Bog Trail.
