Popular since the 1800s, this trail is divided into Sections A, B and C – each separate, but all offering views of the Potomac River. All can be reached from the C&O Canal towpath. The 1.75-mile long Section A involves a rugged hike along a cliff, with scrambling and climbing over rocks. Be careful and wear proper hiking or tennis shoes.
Section B passes through a floodplain forest, and Section C takes in a small waterfall.
