Sunset Joshua Tree Hike with Dinner and Night Sky Presentation

You will meet your guide at our office in downtown Joshua Tree. 61325 Twentynine Palms Highway suite E Joshua Tree, CA 92252. From there you will depart via suburban for a narrated drive of approximately 25 min through the Mojave desert portion of Joshua Tree National Park. Along the way your guide will provide detailed information on the history, culture, wildlife and incredible geologic formations that make Joshua Tree such an incredible and alluring place. Once we arrive at our chosen trailhead, you will be provided water and a day pack, given a safety briefing before heading out on a 2-4 mile hike through the Joshua Tree wilderness. Our goal is to get you out to the places and sites rarely seen by the average visitor to Joshua Tree. Your hike may include scrambling amongst our incredible granite rock formations, dense Joshua Tree forests, spectacular overlooks, historic sites from days past or, just simply immersing yourself in the solitude and wonder of the magic that is Joshua Tree. Each hike can be tailored to your particular interests and desired activity level; to include not hiking at all or just taking in more sightseeing and less hiking.  Along the way your guide will continue to provide detailed information, answer questions and will happily stop for photo opportunities and discussions about a wide range of subjects as desired. At the conclusion of your hike, you will be transported to an incredible valley with sweeping vistas and scattered Joshua Trees to catch the sunset. While you are relaxing, your guide will prepare a dinner meal from one of our selections that can include Vegan, Vegetarian, Gluten free or Kosher options as desired. Drinks, appetizer, main course and dessert are included in the evening fare. Following dinner, your astronomer will arrive and conduct an informative and detailed night sky presentation that can include the Moon, visible planets, constellations, distant galaxies, the vastness of our universe, the possibilities of alien life and many other astronomical subjects and interests that may come up during your presentation. During your presentation, you will be afforded every opportunity to view discussed objects through an impressive 11" Celestron Telescope. At the end of your night sky presentation, which can last anywhere from 1-2 hours ( depending on visible objects, moon illumination and questions ) you will be returned to our office in Joshua Tree to conclude your desert adventure.
