After a picnic at Cades Cove picnic area, work off your lunch and wear out the kids with a creekside hike that rolls through hemlock forests, passes a horse camp and crosses Abrams and Anthony Creeks on several bridges. The trail is 3.6 miles one way, but younger kids will probably be ready to turn around after the fourth bridge at 1.6 miles.

The Anthony Creek Trail is well traveled because it links with the Russell Field and Bote Mountain Trails, which separately connect to the Appalachian Trail.

The trailhead is at the back of the Cades Cove picnic area.
