HI-Boston sets the standard for urban hostels, with its modern, ecofriendly facility in the historic Dill Building. Purpose-built rooms are comfortable and clean, as are the shared bathrooms. Community spaces are numerous, from fully equipped kitchen to trendy ground-floor cafe, and there's a whole calendar of activities on offer. The place is large, but it books out, so reserve in advance.
Dorms vary in size (sleeping four to eight people) and guest gender (male, female or mixed); prices vary accordingly.
Hostelling International Boston opened the doors to its new, green hostel in June 2012. HI-Boston is located in the heart of the city and is a five-minute walk to public transportation and Boston Common.
