Mahukona Beach Park

Park in Akoni Pule Highway

This abandoned harbor offers no sandy beach, so what's the appeal? Excellent snorkeling and diving. Head into the blue and you'll see coral-encrusted underwater mooring chains that lead to the wreckage of an old ship in the center of the harbor; said ship is home to multicolored fish and creeping eels. The left side of the park leads into a county park, where a shabby cluster of picnic tables and restrooms overlooks a scenic, if formidable, beach.
