Hitting all the highlights, this paved drive visits Arches’ strange forms and flaming desert landscapes. It’s packed with photo ops and short walks to arches and iconic landmarks. From the visitor center, the steep road ascends Navajo sandstone, once ancient sand dunes.

Stop at the Moab Fault Overlook, then continue to Park Avenue, where you can walk to a giant rock fin that calls to mind a row of New York City skyscrapers. The full 43-mile drive (including spurs) takes two to three hours if you’re not taking any hikes.
