Tour description provided by Viator

Join Chef-Instructor Jennifer Clair for a tour of New York City's largest and most beloved farmers market followed by a cooking class at her popular cooking school, Home Cooking New York. You'll meet Jennifer at the tip of the Union Square Greenmarket, where she will guide you through the market stalls, explaining what is in season and how to choose the best produce, while you sample foods and shop for the ingredients you'll need to prepare lunch together. After 45 minutes of tasting and shopping, you'll head downtown via subway to SoHo, home to Jennifer's cooking school where she'll lead you in a cooking class, using the seasonal foods you've collected to prepare a full, seasonally-inspired lunch to enjoy together. A typical menu consists of a local cheese + charcuterie + fruit platter (for nibbling on while you cook), a hearty seasonal vegetable and local grain dish, and roasted seasonal fruit served with homemade crème anglaise. This tour runs about 3 1/2 hours, rain or shine.
