A couple of kilometers east of town, the region's largest winery, run by the Irurtia family since 1913, produces award-winning tannats and pinot noirs. With notice, visitors can take a 45-minute tour of the cellars (in English or French upon request), followed by tastings of one to five wines (US$10 to US$35, depending on the number of wines sampled).

Simple B&B lodging can be arranged adjacent to the winery with advance notice (contact María Noel Irurtia at 099-692545).
