If lolling on the beach becomes boring, you can always throw yourself off Jebel Jais. Launch from the transparent platform at 1680m and fly down the mountainside, reaching speeds of up to 150km/h, on the world's longest zip line – measuring 2.83km. You'll land on a platform completely suspended midair; from there it's another, shorter, zip-line trip back onto terra firma.
There's no age restriction, but participants must be taller than 122cm. Three slots are available hourly; booking is essential and must be made in advance on the website. The price can double (to Dhs650) at busy times such as weekends in the winter months, so it pays to time your trip for a weekday.
