Big hunks of meat – mutton or chicken – charred on foot-long skewers are paired with Afghan pulao (rice pilaf), chewy bread and homemade hot sauce. That’s it. For added authenticity, eat with your hands and sit upstairs in the carpeted majlis (reception room). It's in an alley behind Al Ghurair Mosque.
