California meets Afghanistan at this cafe charmer where almond butter and chia pancakes are offered alongside borani banjon (oven-baked aubergines with mint-flecked garlic yoghurt) and hearty fodder like lamb shank with brown rice pilau. The Afghan menu-spin comes from the secret recipes of the owner's Afghan mother. Wash it all down with fresh juices or an activated charcoal matcha latte.
It's a popular breakfast spot with bagels, more egg options than you can shake a stick at and the ubiquitous avocado toast on the menu. Eat inside for stonking good water views and check out the bathroom before you leave for the most panoramic marina vista you'll get while washing your hands. There's a second branch at Galleria mall.
