Emirati in Yas Island

Whether you're here for a traditional breakfast of chabab (cardamom-spiced pancakes) stuffed with caramelised onions and cheese or getting your fix of machboos (a casserole of meat or fish, rice and onions cooked in a spicy sauce) with a side of fried sweet potatoes and a ghaf leaf salad, Meylas is a great place to dive into Emirati flavours.

Don't miss its luqaimat (sweet doughnuts) doused in date syrup if you're a dessert fan. It's in the Al Muneera beachfront development at Al Raha Beach. If you're coming by taxi get the driver to drop you at Al Raha Carrefour. The pedestrian walkway and bridge to the island begins from there.
