Al Fanar

in Yas Island

With the tacky fake camel much loved by selfie-takers outside, this place looks like a total tourist-trap, but Emiratis rate the traditional dishes here and happily tuck into its salted fish biryani, fareed (lamb stew layered with flatbread), saloona samak (fish stew) and harees (a porridge-like stew made from cracked wheat and slow-cooked chicken or lamb).

There's another branch in the Khor Al Maqta area.
