Sebile Hanım Konağı

Boutique Hotel in Ünye

In the former Armenian district, this gloriously restored hilltop property dating to 1877 has 14 cosy wood-lined rooms with private baths, fridges and lovely fabrics on the walls. The cheapest rooms are mansard ones on the top floor; choose instead room 201, with its carved stone fireplace and sauna, or one of the two suites (105 or 205).

There's also an excellent licensed restaurant (mains ₺15 to ₺25) open 10am to 11pm daily with courtyard seating in the warmer months. From the central square, Cumhuriyet Meydanı, follow the signs uphill from the western edge of the old city walls.
