A barnlike place near the iskele, Kanaat has been serving up competent hazar yemek (ready-made food) since 1933. It is known for its wide range of desserts, which includes unusual offerings such as a home-made ice cream made from sheep's milk and sahlep (ground orchid root). The understated but pleasing decor features photographs of old street scenes.
