There isn't much left to see of ancient Telmessos. Dotted around town are Lycian stone sarcophagi dating from around 450 BC and broken into by tomb robbers centuries ago. One excellent Lycian sarcophagus is just east of the belediye (city hall). Another good example is the sarcophagus in the middle of Kaya Caddesi; on the neighbouring patch of waste ground are more tombs in a worse state of repair.
