Brought to life by one of Amasya's oldest families, Emin Efendi is a collection of five neighbouring buildings. You really want a room in the old riverfront mansion Gül Evi ('Rose House'), where creaky, timber-framed rooms are an Ottoman mash-up of velvet drapes and reproductions of 19th-century orientalist artworks. Two have tiny riverfront balconies. Standard rooms across the road are bland.
The restaurant here (mains ₺20 to ₺35) is popular for meaty Turkish mains.
