Milas-Bodrum Airport, 39km northeast from Bodrum town, receives flights from all over Europe, mostly with charters and budget airlines such as EasyJet and Sun Express in summer. Anadolu Jet, AtlasGlobal, Onur Air, Pegasus Airlines, Thomas Cook and Turkish Airlines all serve İstanbul (both airports) and/or Ankara, while Bora Jet flies to Adana and Mykonos (Greece).
Atlasjet provides a free shuttle, leaving Turgutreis three hours before departures and stopping in Bitez, Gümbet, Bodrum otogar and Konacık en route to the airport. Both services also meet arrivals.
Otherwise, an expensive taxi (₺140) is your only option.
Visit operators' offices or phone to check their website departure info, which isn't always reliable. Check, too, if your ferry is departing from Bodrum's old port near the castle or the newer cruise port south of town. Drivers in particular should book in advance; this can often be done online. Bodrum Express Lines serves Kos (single/same-day return/open return/car €17/19/30/50; one hour) once daily between April and October, reduced services rest of year. Bodrum Ferryboat Association serves Datça and the following Greek islands:
Datça (single/return/car/bicycle €45/80/130/10; 1½ hours) Two to three times daily August to September, two sailings daily in October, three sailings weekly in November. The ferry docks at Körmen on the peninsula's northern coast, and the fare includes the 15-minute shuttle to Datça.
Kalymnos (one way/same-day return/open return €25/32/50; one hour) From Turgutreis Saturday at 10am and on Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 7pm late-May to mid-October.
Kos (one way/same-day return/open return/car €17/19/30/50; 45 minutes) Up to three sailings daily from May to September. From mid-June to October, Yeşil Marmaris offers fast daily Bodrum–Kos catamarans (one way €20, same-day return €24, open return €36; 20 minutes) from the cruise port.
Rhodes (one way/same-day return/open return €40/40/80; two hours) Fast catamaran sailings on Monday and Saturday between June and September. Yeşil Marmaris also operates services to Rhodes (one way/same-day return €65, open return €78).
Symi (one way/same-day return/open return €32/32/64; 1¾ hours) One sailing per week between August and September. Yeşil Marmaris also offers occasional sailings (one way/return €32/64; 1¾ hours).
All the major bus companies serve Bodrum otogar. Some also serve Turgutreis and Yalıkavak. Metro (www.metroturizm.com.tr) links Bodrum with most destinations; heading east along the coast, Pamukkale is a better option, with at least one morning and one night bus to Antalya (₺65, seven hours) via Milas, Muğla, Dalaman and Fethiye.
