True to its namesake (the Greek-influenced Aegean island off Ayvalık), the first thing you see in the Castle Boutique Hotel's courtyard is a fridge loaded with olive-oil-soaked mezes. Begin a Kaleiçi evening here, between attractively lit pools, orange trees and fairy lights, with a platter (₺25 for one) of classic Turkish mezes.

Mains include seafood, köfte (meatballs) and güveç (stew).
