Checking flights...

Antakya's Hatay Airport is 20km north of the city. Both Pegasus Airlines and Turkish Airlines have regular flights to/from İstanbul starting from about ₺70. A taxi from the airport is around ₺30, and Havaş runs a regular airport shuttle bus into central Antakya.

Antakya's intercity otogar is 7km to the northwest of the centre. Direct buses go to Ankara, Antalya, İstanbul, İzmir, Kayseri and Konya, usually travelling via Adana (₺20, 3½ hours, 190km). There are also frequent services to Gaziantep (₺25, four hours, 262km) and Şanlıurfa (₺30, seven hours, 400km).

Minibuses and dolmuşes for İskenderun (₺6, one hour, 58km) and Samandağ (₺5, 40 minutes, 28km) leave from near the Shell petrol station along Yavuz Sultan Selim Caddesi, at the top of İstiklal Caddesi.

Travel to Syria

In happier times, Antakya was an ideal base for forays into Syria, the country it formed part of until 1939. Sadly, travel to Syria is currently impossible.
