Changing Face of Antakya
Antakya's central old town district has undergone something of a rebirth of late with many derelict old houses rimming the back lanes being restored and converted into cafes, restaurants and bars. The biggest sign of Antakya's new-found confidence though is the new Hatay Archaeology Museum. The entire mosaic collection from the old museum in the centre of Antakya has been moved to spangly new premises that boast the world's largest mosaic display area. The new museum is just out of town on the road to Reyhanlı, about 1km past the Church of St Peter which has also reopened after a long restoration project.
