Welcome to Maracas Bay
Maracas Bay is Trinidad’s most popular beach. The wide, white-sand shore, dotted with palm trees contrasting against the backdrop of verdant mountains, remains an irresistible lure for both locals and travelers. Despite the curving headland, the sand is often pounded by waves that serve up good bodysurfing. On weekends the beach can get pretty crowded, but during the week it can feel almost deserted.
However, the scene is somewhat marred by ongoing construction of new vendor huts and visitor facilities on the sand, but once beyond these, the beach itself remains glorious.
