Three international airlines fly into Tonga, with direct flights from New Zealand, Australia and Fiji.
Trans-Pacific yachts ride the trade winds from Samoa, the Cook Islands and French Polynesia. Others come north from New Zealand. All vessels calling on Tonga must give customs 24-hour advance notice of arrival. To summon the harbour master and for emergencies in Tonga use VHF Channel 16.
