My wife and I will be staying at the Intercontinental Hanoi Westlake and I noticed that it appears to be about 5 km from the Old Quarter. Is it possible/safe to walk to/from? Is there a pedestrian-friendly road/route? What would be a reasonable taxi fare and are there any other options, eg bus/hotel shuttle?
I will be flying a return trip from Sydney to Paris in July. The airline I am looking at has a 6hr stopover on the way over in Ho Chi Minh, and a 13hr stopover on the way back. I have been once before, but it was 5 years ago.
What can you recommend I do in both of these time frames? Having stopovers in Vietnam is a bonus I was not expecting and I want to make the most of it.
Can anyone recommend a clean hotel on the beach in Hoian. We don't mind taking a five minute bus or taxi into HoiAn city. We want a beach hotel or home stay right on the beach, and we are willing to spend $100.00 USD per night.
Hi all, we just checked into our hotel in Ha Noi and tried to open the bathroom window but it was one of those that slides. Except it didn't slide and fell out into the reception area. The boss wouldn't come down as she was 'too angry to talk'. I'm worried that as she has already shown this kind of attitude, we are going to be in trouble.
Does anyone know what we can do here? They are going to try to make us pay and I'm sure it will be a lot but it truly wasn't our fault. The window was…
hi...am in Hanoi and trying to find a shop that used to be on Hang Bac some years ago.....called Tribal Pan Flute....it does not exist at this location now...hoping maybe it has just moved rather than closed down. If anyone knows if it still exists, and where, would be very much appreciated.
Hello everyone. I will be visiting Vietnam with my fiancee in april during easter breaks. I am really interested in caving in Phong nha national park. There is just one tour organiser by the name of oxalis but i find them pretty expensive. Since my budget is pretty low, what other options do I have? Is it possible to hire a personal guide who can take us to the caves around with minimal cost. I am on a short trip hence dont want to spend more then one day in phong nha or may be two.
is there anybody who went to Vam Sat / Can Gio?
Actually we plan a cycle tour and go for some boat trip though the mangeroves. What about accomodation at the Vam Sat visitors center?
I can´t open their website.....
We are not interested in monkeys and feeding crocodiles...
Thanks for any kind of advise
After last night had BBQ in this restaurant name 3T Quan Nuong, Vietnamese BBQ 29/31 Ton That Thiep st HCMC, I think I should write a few words here so that everyone can be aware of it. I know this restaurant for many years, this restaurant really piss me off with their crazy way of keep increasing the prices...3-4 years ago I used to go there very often, and then one day, they increased the price menu, my friend politely went to see the owner (a lady about 40 of age) and told her that " I see…
