Stockholm day trip/viking tour to Sigtuna/Uppsala? Archipelago tour in April?

Hi, I'll be visiting Stockholm from April 3-8. I found this "viking history" tour (http://www.viator.com/tours/Stockholm/Viking-History-Day-Trip-from-Stockholm-Including-Uppsala/d907-2962VIKUPP), which sounds good on the surface (goes to Granby, Sigtuna, and Gamla Uppsala).

Despite the positive reviews on that site, the 1/2 day tour (same operator) has some less great reviews and I found one other review on tripadvisor that is not very positive (http://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserReviews-g18985

Good weekend trips from Stockholm April/May for solo traveler

I am looking for good weekend trips away from Stockholm for a solo traveler in April/May. I like historic buildings, nature walks (nothing too strenuous as I have knee problems) and good food. I visited a number of islands in the Stockholm archipelago last summer and have visited Göteborg, Malmö, Lund and Helsingborg. I am not into winter sports, so forget ski resorts. I don't have a car so it would need to be accessible by train, bus, ferry or possibly flight if there are cheap flights. I plan…

i need some help to plan my short visit to Stockholm in April. I´ll have the afternoon and evening of April 7th and the full day April 8th for as much sightseeing as possible. Hiking places not to far from Stockholm

Hi guys !

I'm planning to do a small hiking trip in Sweden. The problem is that I can only be there from Wednesday to Monday, so I can't really move too far from Stockholm, where is the airport. I would like to know if there's any places not too far from Stockholm where I could do hiking and stuff. I don't mind doing 5-6-7 hours of train in one day to get to another place.

I don't really know the hiking destinations in Sweden and I would like to get your advices. National Parks, how to get…

Stockholm Archipelago

Hi. I will be visiting Stockholm in early June and would like to make a half-day trip to the archipelago, and I'm looking for advice about which islands and/or tours might be a good fit.

Given the fact that I plan to spend only 4-6 hours I know I should sign up for a short tour, such as the Stromma Archipelego Tour or Good Morning Stockholm Tour, with a stop at Fjaderholmarna.

If possible, though, I’d prefer to take the boat out to an island close by, have a walk about and then return…

old style paper money from Sweden

Anybody know if the old style design of the Swedish Kronor from around 1985 still legal tender? They're the green Kr10 notes with a side portrait of King Gustav IV Adolf at obverse and an abstraction of snow flakes at reverse that had since been replaced by a coin. How about the bluish green Kr 50 note with a side of portrait of King Gustav III (1771-92) on one side and Carl Von Linne on the other also dated 1985? Are they exchangeable for new current banknotes at a bank in Sweden? After all…

Three months in Scandinavia - minimize zig-zagging

Hi All,

My wife and I will be in the following four countries this June-August; Finland, Sweden, Denmark and Estonia. We are thinking of spending 20-25 days in each country, mostly in the cities and a bit of out in the woods/villages, rural/middle size town. We are wondering where we should start and how we proceed from there. We can fly to any of these places first and take it from there. We would like to keep the cost down and minimize zig-zagging. I suppose flights would be cheap/er (??)…

Stockholm and Area in 7 Days with 2 year old

Hi everyone,
My wife and I will be visiting Sweden in mid April with our 2 year old son.
The plan so far is really to see Uppsala, Sigtuna and Stockholm only. I see that Uppsala and Sigtuna are quite close to the airport and I'm wondering if the easiest way to get from the airport then to these places is to rent a car? Are these destinations more of a day trip destinations? Is there enough time to see everything by just spending a night in Uppsala and then making a brief stop in Sigtuna before…

Need help in finding a place to stay in Laxån, Sweden

Hi there, I’m about to embark a journey in Laxån, Sweden. I tried googling some information but there are only a handful listed and I need some recommendations. I do not seek anything fancy, but a decent place to stay with perfect mix of environment and food is all that matters. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks!

Camper Van Partner for Sweeden in June, 2015

I am an active mature single man who is planning to use a Camper Van to travel in Sweeden in June, 2015. I am hoping to share exploring experiences and expenses with an interesting woman. Especially if she has the possibility of traveling in Europe till October. I prefer nature over big cities and enjoy intellectual conversations over small talk. The departure time is flexible.
