Is there someone who has climbed both Triglav and Half Dome (Yosemite National Park, USA) or Angel's Landing (Zion National Park, USA)?

As someone who has done the Half Dome day hike a couple of times (and is still in comparable condition), how difficult (fitness), but more importantly ‘technical’ or ‘scary’ is Triglav as a 2-3 day hike, summiting from Zasavska koca na Prehodavcih or Dom Planika pod Triglavom? Hi all! I'd appreciate some advice on whether you think it makes more sense to take day trips from the capital where I'm flying into and hop around to the different parts of the country, or make the capital my base. I'm vacillating between the two but never having been, I can't make a decision! I'll be relying on public transport to get around.

Thanks!

I will be there for one night in September, and want to maximize. Good place with a view perhaps, but not too expensive, nor a hostel necessarily, as I will stay in plenty of those. Any help is much appreciated!

If you were to suggest the most scenic and dramatic hike in the Triglav National Park what trail would you suggest? We are hoping to see high alpine peaks, mountain meadows and possibly some huts for refreshments. Will be traveling with kids as well.

We currently have "The Julian Alps of Slovenia - Mountain Walks and Short Treks" but are hoping to have some help in narrowing down our options.

Thanks in advance!

Is a visit to Ljubljana worth it when traveling with 2 kids ages 7 and 9? We are considering going straight to Lake Bled and the Skocjan caves and skipping Ljubljana. What do you think?

We are planning our Croatia trip and face a couple of itinerary choices. We can either spend 2 days in the beginning of our trip going to Slovenia or 2 days at the end of the trip doing day trips from Dubrovnik to Montenegro or Mostar/Sarajevo. Which would you do and why?

A Friendly Good Day

Me and my family want to plan a ski holiday to Slovenia over new year 15/16. We are on a very tight budget with small children. Skiing abilities intermediate to good.

Where would you preferably go and what accommodation should we try.
Thanks in advance

Hi all
Have checked online but can't find very up-to-date info (not just being lazy here!) so:
I'm landing in Venice (Treviso) on 3rd April, and want to head straight to Ljubliana. Do you know if it's still possible by train via Venice Santa Lucia station then Trieste, and if services will be disrupted by Easter?

Then in Ljubliana, I'm looking for any new/updated recommendations of things to do. My interests are flea markets/ antiques/junk/vintage tat; folk art; crypts, pretty graveyards and…

We have very limited time in Slovenia and I'm trying to figure out which cave is best for a visit. I'm definitely leaning towards Skocjan based on pictures alone. But I'm curious as to why I keep reading that Postojna is the most visited.
I would very much appreciate opinions and recommendations.

Also, we will be traveling from Croatia and plan on spending the night in either Ljubljana or Lake Bled. We will more than likely rent a car, unless there is easy transportation from the caves…

I am looking for some advice on plans I have for visiting Slovenia this September. I’ll have a rental car, and after hiking in the Val Gardena area of the Italian Dolomites, I plan to drive to Slovenia via route 111 and SS54 toward Bovec or Triglav. I have 5 days in Slovenia before I need to return to Venice, and I’d like to do some day hikes in the Julian Alps, perhaps a day of trout fishing on the Soca River, a visit to Bled and the beekeeping museum in Radovljica, and finally an overnight…
