I was in the Seychelles over Christmas and have written a brief report on my trip. It includes some excursions I would particularly recommend, comments on the hotels/restaurants I stayed/ate at and some information that is not in the guidebooks which I think might be useful to travellers visiting the islands.

Hi, We are planning on spending 6 nights in Seychelles for Honeymoon. Looking for privacy, silence, good and easily acceassible beach for swimming and good service at the hotel/resort (like massage, prompt answers and good food). I have read from many forums that ocean can be rough at that time of the year. So which Island/beach and resort/hotel should we be looking into? Our budget is $6000 for 6 nights for the hotel. Any suggestions?
my GF and I are on a short stopover (3 nights) on the seychelles...
we are looking for a place to go diving (can anyone give advise?)and budget place to sleep. There is no backpackers or hostel, or is there?
Hello peeps, I am new at LP forum and really really need some advice on my trip to Seychelles. I can't choose where to stay: Praslin or La digue. I wanted to stay in La Digue as it's a smaller island and the idea of no cars, only bikes really enchanted me. If we stay in La Digue we would go to Le Domaine de L'orangerie Hotel. In the other hand, in Praslin we would need to rent a car, or take a taxi to visit other beaches.... But the hotel in Praslin would be Raffles and it seems soberb with our…
Does anyone have recent 1st hand experience of whether the cargo boat (called La Bella Seraphina) from Mahé to La Digue, via. Praslin is currently taking passengers?
I read elsewhere that it was no longer allowed due to a couple of recent accidents, but it would be good to have this confirmed (or hopefully, not confirmed - as there now don't seem to be any cheap ways to travel between islands for tourists!).
We're planning 7 days in the Seychelles in August, but on a tight budget. So far, Airbnb has helped us find basic accommodation for around £40 per night for 2.
Can anyone that's been suggest the islands we might be able to visit on a budget (i.e. with a 'cheap' ferry crossing). I believe it's only Mahé, Praslin and La Digue. Am I right? And 'cheap' means 129 Euros for tourists for a hop between the 3 (apparantly the daily cargo boat, which was cheaper, no longer takes passengers due to…
I thought I would share this clip I found on the web. Need to get to this place already!
Have any of you been?
Day 1: Flew into Praslin. We stayed in a bungalow at Coco Bay villa. It was an efficient bungalow, clean, really cheap for Seychelles standard (60 euros/night) and less than 3 minutes walk from Côte d'or beach in Anse Volbert. The staff was amazingly nice. On top of it, they were offeing dinner for 15-20 euros and it was better than the restaurant with triple the…
Has anyone delt with this? I made a reservation for the Seychelles using their Seychelles-accomodations website and the place I booked sent me a confirmation email requesting I buy some duty free items at the airport. I told them I would not be purchasing anything upon arrival, and got another email thanking me for picking up the duty free goods. I sent one more email stating I WILL NOT be buying anything at duty free on arrival and then they got it. I'm a little weary now of this place, but it…
