Yunnan Tibetan highway, independent wayCountry forums / North-East Asia / Tibet
Dear friends, hearing a lot of good news about people hitching to Lhasa from Yunnan, I have decided to try my luck. Is anybody out there who did this recently? Could you help with information about ways of transport /buses, trucks.../, checkposts, etc.? I would be most gratefull. Looking forward to your replay, mis
I think it's a bit difficult to hitchhike out of Lhasa because it's just more difficult to find the right vehicle the same as your way. I haven't hitchhiked in Tibet for at least 6 years, but if I were you, I would take a bus to Meldro Gongkar which isn't too far away from Lhasa, then hitchhike along the Hwy 318 and 214 (after Markham). | 1
I just replied to you on the China branch - check that out. | 2
