Xi An to Zhnagjiajie

Hello

Can anyone advise on best way to get from Xi An to Zhangjiajie on Dec 1 or Dec 2, please? I can't find a direct flight so I'm either looking in the wrong places or it doesn't exist.

There is no direct flight from Xian to Zhangjiajie. The only Chinese cities with direct flight to Zhangjiajie are Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Dalian, Changsha, Nanjing, Hangzhou, Hengyang, Baotou, Xining, Jixi, Zhangjiakou, Yinchuan and Kunming.

Here is the cheapest way to book it with less than $80 if you book it now
Try airchangan from Xian to Changsha about ¥250
then use csair from Changsha to Zhangjiajie about ¥130

Xi'an > Zhangjiajie nonstop flights are seasonal only, roughly late May to late October. Outside that time frame, you'll either need to connect or use alternate transport method. Because domestic flights can be delayed, you do run the risk of misconnecting if you try to go flight-to-flight and don't leave a big transfer time cushion. Or you can fly Xi'an - Changsha then take train or bus to ZJJ.

There is a direct train that connects Xi'an with Zhangjiajie. It's not quick (About 16 hours) and leaves at a highly inconvenient time (Circa 1:00am arriving at about 7:00pm) but at least it'll get you there.

There is also direct bus option but of course not comfortable.
