Wine Tasting in the Loire Valley

Hi, We are a couple planning to spend a couple of days in Tours in the summer and are looking for a vineyard/chateau visit and wine tasting experience. We are travelling by public transport and were wondering whether it is possible to arrange anything from Tours. Any advice gratefully received.

Have you checked out the official website for Tours? That is always the first place to check for any information about tours and events, etc. Of course there are tours from Tours, to all kinds of places, same as every other city in France. You might want to think ahead of time what Loire wines you are interested in.

I found the Loire chateaux and wine caves difficult to access by public transit.
While you can get to the.chateaux in the towns, to reach the big three in a day ( Chambord, Cheverny, and Chenonceaux)
a car rental for a day makes it a breeze. A wine cave where many Loire vintners age their wines, can be visited at the end of the day.

But a one-day car rental costs the same as a three-day rental. It's probably cheaper to hop on a mini-van in Tours and take a tour.
