Whether in Tibet/Nepal

Hi there,

does enyone know if the Friendship Highway between Tibet and Nepal is open?
We hear that because of the weather (snow) it is possible that this road is closed.
We planned to be in Lhasa around the 18th of December.

The road is open and will never be closed in winter also. In case if the weather is very very bad they can close but only for few hr.

Yup.....the highway now only closes on very rare occasions and generally only for a short period of time. Its not the dirt track it once was!

Agree....should be little to worry about regarding the Friendship Highway. I have spent 6 of the past 9 winters in the Everest region and have rarely seen any major snow accumulation.

yeah, right, the road is rarely close. They usually close the road to Namtso lake due to snow.
