Where to stay - whats the food like

Was thinking of going to Sri Lanka later in the year and was wondering where the best places to stay are. Looking for 4-5 star. Have seen good deal for Taj Exotica. Is this an nice hotel or are there better hotels. Want nice beach without hassel.

Also, whats the food like.

Sorry - out of my league! I can direct you to a number of good guest houses costing around 1000 rupees (£7) a night which have excellent food and nice beaches though.

Try this site that lists many of the 'top' hotels---Galle Face in Colombo might be your style. Note also that on the left of the screen you can click the areas of the country to get more recommends. As to food?? Where you stay, it will be top class, not street food,and probably a lot of western menus.

I have to admit I love the Galle Face and I usually try to book one night of luxury at the end of a visit

Hi, Nice to hear you will visit SRI LANKA and you can have very nice holliday.TAJ EXOTICA is one of good hotels in south of sri lanka.I recomand the hotel BLUE WATER which is 4+ hotel.It is much better than the other one.Food is really nice and the beach is clean.It has huge garden.Nice swiming pool and close to air port.
