Where should we organize our hike from? Moshi or Arusha?

Hello everyone,
Where it will be easier and cheaper to organize the hike to Kili -Moshi or Arusha???
We don’t like the idea of booking in advance. Actually, it won’t be possible. So, the idea is to get to one of these towns and schedule something for to begin after 2 days… We know that we will be there sometime between February and beginning of March.
We are planning to do either Macheme route or Lemosho Route

I think Moshi is best for Kili treks

Moshi, without a doubt.

Moshi should be cheaper, though you probably won't find the big or fancy companies there (doesn't sound like that's what you like). I used a guide out of Moshi, Paul Robert Shayo, who was very responsive to my emails, safe, and pleasant to be around. The equipment was not fancy (tents were a little ragged), but it was safe and just fine for me. PM me if you want contact info.

Moshi is much closer to where the climb begins to try and book there. I suggest checking with Zara, you might be able to get good deal with them last minute and they include 2 nights lodging at their hotel in Moshi if you book with them. There are no shortage of companies in Moshi, but before you book be sure to ask around about the company.
