Where is the Beshkuprik border post?Country forums / Central Asia / Uzbekistan
We are visiting Kazakhstan as tourists later this month and are planning to cross into Uzbekistan thereafter. There are mixed reports at the moment as to whether the Chernayevka border crossing is open to British passport holders; there is some suggestion that it is necessary for non-Kazakhs to travel to the Yallama border crossing instead. According to the British embassy in Tashkent, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has advised there are two border posts, Yallama and Beshkuprik, available for use at the present time. Anyone know where the Beshkuprik border post is? Is it the same as Gishtkuprik? Gishtkuprik, at least on the google searches I've carried out, seems to also be referred to as Chernyaevka. If Besh and Gisht are one in the same then good news for anyone who, like us, is travelling from Chimkent to Tashkent. I await clarification from the Embassy on this but thought I'd check on the board too. Thanks Geebsie
