Whalesharks at Oslob - Rates and diving

Hi there,

currently in Cebu and wanted to go snorkelling and diving with the whalesharks.

I have a car so can get down there myself.

What are the diving and snorkelling rates direct at the centre?

Also - can you hire scuba diving equipment at the centre.?

you have a car, but not a mask and snorkel?

I'm sure you would be able to rent a set there, but probably expensive. More than the 100 pesos it usually costs elsewhere.

I think it was 1000 to enable you to go on the boat AND go swimming when I did it in late 2012, but it may have gone up since then.

My husband and I will be in Cebu in February 2017 and we would like to rent a car. We are planning to drive from Cebu, to Moalboal, Kawasan Falls, Oslob and back to Cebu. My husband is a very experienced, confident driver, (we have driven in China, Costa Rica, Australia, Greece and South Africa.) I heard traffic in the Philippines is bad, but is it so bad that we should not rent a car? I would love to hear your experience. Many thanks in advance!
