Weather in Hanoi and Halong Bay

Sorry I think I messed up the last message. Any way some friends and I are going to be travelling from HCMC through Cambodia, Laos and then back into Vietnam around Dong Ha and then on up to Hanoi, Halong Bay and Sapa. We are thinking that April ( not this year ) would be a good time, weather wise, would this be about right? We want the top part to be warm and not too much rain because thats where we will be spending most of our time, I know that Sapa would be a bit cooler being up in the mountains.
Any info would be much appreciated

April is a good month to visit northern Vietnam, not so hot like Jul and Aug and not so cold like Jan and Feb. Even in Sapa, I visited Sapa in late April, sunny during day time and cool at night.

Even in May Sapa and Halong Bay is quite pleasant.

Just watch the weather o the coast at that time of year - can be a bit overcast and drizzling - not the best for viewing halong Bay.
