Warsaw Centralna, convenient place to wait some hours with WiFi?Country forums / Eastern Europe & the Caucasus / Poland
Dear fellow travellers, I'll arrive at Warsaw Centralna around 10 am with 2 large suitcases and will have to wait 6 hours until my onward train to Belarus departs. I'm looking for a nice place close to Centralna with WiFi and food where I can wait comfortably. Do you have recommendations?
I don't know what you consider a nice place but there's a free wi-fi in every McDonald's, KFC, Subway, Starbucks, ... Ruth | 1
Thanks for your quick reply. From you list I'd prefer Starbucks, but the closest one seems to be a 25 minutes walk. Maybe I'll try the shopping mall directly opposite Centralna. Regards, Kynetic | 2
Use the walkway to get to the Zloty Terasy mall right next to the station - various coffee places can be found there. | 3
Within 5 mins walk: Another option is leaving your suitcases in a deposit (there are both lockers and a manned deposit - the latter might be a better option for your large suitcases; search for "przechowalnia bagażu", opposite the stairs leading to the main hall), getting out onto the surface and taking a look around the city. 6 hrs is a planety of time, the Palace of Culture is just accross the street and the Old Town a 30 min. walk/ 10 min. bus ride away. | 4
"Zloty Terasy mall right next to the station" - I agree. Also, the Marriott over the road has free coffee in the lobby and wireless access. Another place to vist is the Palace Kulturny, diagonally opoposite. It is the standout landmark of Warsaw, and usefull to while away an hour or 2 , take in the view, have a snack at the top. Finally, I agree, that 6 hours is plenty of time to walk via Nowy Swiat into the Old Town (Stare Miastre) | 5
