Warsaw Centralna, convenient place to wait some hours with WiFi?

Country forums / Eastern Europe & the Caucasus / Poland

Dear fellow travellers,

I'll arrive at Warsaw Centralna around 10 am with 2 large suitcases and will have to wait 6 hours until my onward train to Belarus departs.

I'm looking for a nice place close to Centralna with WiFi and food where I can wait comfortably.

Do you have recommendations?
Thanks so much in advance,
Regards,
Kinetic

I don't know what you consider a nice place but there's a free wi-fi in every McDonald's, KFC, Subway, Starbucks, ...

Thanks for your quick reply. From you list I'd prefer Starbucks, but the closest one seems to be a 25 minutes walk.

Maybe I'll try the shopping mall directly opposite Centralna.

Use the walkway to get to the Zloty Terasy mall right next to the station - various coffee places can be found there.
But with 6 hours you could also go see the city - it's quite interesting. Leave your luggage, get a map or guidebook from the tourist info in the main hall and then walk from the station past the huge PKiN tower to Nowy Swiat street, which you follow all the way to the old town and Nowy Miasto areas. Then walk back or take the airport bus which follows this route back passing the station.

Within 5 mins walk:
Wayne's Coffee in the Złote Tarasy shopping mall.

Probably also Coffee Heaven cafes at the train station and in Złote Tarasy should have it.

Another option is leaving your suitcases in a deposit (there are both lockers and a manned deposit - the latter might be a better option for your large suitcases; search for "przechowalnia bagażu", opposite the stairs leading to the main hall), getting out onto the surface and taking a look around the city. 6 hrs is a planety of time, the Palace of Culture is just accross the street and the Old Town a 30 min. walk/ 10 min. bus ride away.

"Zloty Terasy mall right next to the station" - I agree.

Also, the Marriott over the road has free coffee in the lobby and wireless access.

Another place to vist is the Palace Kulturny, diagonally opoposite. It is the standout landmark of Warsaw, and usefull to while away an hour or 2 , take in the view, have a snack at the top.

Finally, I agree, that 6 hours is plenty of time to walk via Nowy Swiat into the Old Town (Stare Miastre)
