Walk Beirut

If anyone has a few days to spend in Beirut and is interested in a very interesting walking tour of the city check out Walk Beirut (http://www.bebeirut.org/walk.html). The tours are run by a former grad of The American University of Beirut named Ronnie and he knows the city inside out. He gives very cool insight into the history of the city and is a brilliant introduction into the Lebanese politics and identity. The tours are $20 and they last for 5.5 hrs. The walk wanders all over the city taking you through some neighbourhoods you might have otherwise missed on your own. The group itself also seems like it's a great place to hook up with fellow travellers who might be looking for some travelling companions for a few days. The tour was definitely a highlight of my trip when I was there and I would say it is well worth a look.
