Visa refusals due to Turkish visa/stampCountry forums / North-East Asia / China
I've heard that people have been having Chinese visas refused because they have a Turkish visa/stamp in their passport. Has anyone had this problem? Is it still an issue currently? I believe Iranian visas are also an issue. And of course I have both in my passport!
I've gotten Chinese visas with turkish visa on arrival(the ~$20 small sticker). I know China has had lots of spats with Turkey but I dont believe that is a blanket ban on people who have visited there. Iran.... IDK | 1
Thanks rpbourne. Was that recently? | 2
My wife and I just got 10 Year Visas 3 weeks ago for China, and we both had Turkey Stamps. US Passports. We just returned from a 1 week trip there and had no issues as well. | 3
Iranian stamps in the passport are not an issue in China. | 4
Last year around the g20 meeting there were issue's with stamps from mainly muslim countries. In case of stamps after I think 2014 a visa was denied. This was however a temporary issue. Around large events they regularly clamp down on visa issuance with silly/strict rules. So can imagine that recently around the party congress this has been an issue too. Generally this should not be an issue. E.g. I received a visa despite having a somaliland visa in my passport. | 5
I just got my Chinese visa and I have stamps for Kurdistan, Lebanon and Turkey. No issues whatsoever :) | 6
Thanks. It's good to hear positive reports. | 7
