Visa Query???Country forums / Central Asia / Uzbekistan
Visas for Central Asia – Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan? I'm hoping someone on here can help us out with this. I have tried to find this information online and I even e-mailed Stantours, the Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan embassies here in Korea, but have not heard back from them. I will do a phone call or go in to ask them if someone can't help me here first. If it's online somewhere then I somehow have missed it and probably look dumb writing this. Situation: We are planning to go to the 3 countries above later this year. However, we are starting in China in June and will likely be there a couple of months before entering Kazakhstan. However, knowing the exact date that we would enter each country is unrealistic at this point. We would like to do our visas here in Korea in advance (save any hassles later) but we need some information about the dating of the visas. Which of the following applies? It will help determine whether we get them now or later. Yes, I know we need 3 different visas. 1.Does the visa start from the date it is issued for any of the 3 countries? Regarding the letters of invitation – do they require specific travel dates or is it an invitation to come in at anytime? Hope this is clear. Thanks for your help.
Hi, I have just used Stantours to get the exact same 3 visa's and got the last visa i needed (including Russian) yesterday from the Uzbekistan embassy. I'm in the UK so i dont know if there will be any differences but we needed to specify the specific dates we wanted for the LOI's (Russian and Uzbek) and for the ones we applied for directly (Kazakh and Kyrygz) . We have a months visa for each country even though we wont spend that long in each place but we can be flexible with our plans when we get there. Didnt have any problems getting any of the visa's and found Stantours very prompt in replying to emails. Edited by: Tomweir Edited by: Tomweir | 1
I am pretty that they are all the same. You can enter on or after the date on the visa but must exit on or before the date on the visa and the dates can't be changed without applying for a new visa. If your plans are really fluid, the Kazakh visa can be applied for in Urumqi although a recent report suggests that it could take longer than the previously described 3-5 days because the Chinese have blocked internet and international phone calls in Xinjiang. Generally speaking these visas are good for 30 days and are date specific. Look at the applications, if you need an invitation then it probably has specific dates. In the future, while it is important to indicate where you plan to apply for the visa it is equally important to indicate your passport. Many rules apply more to your passport than where you apply. You might want to look at the websites of these embassies in your country. Ruth | 2
I have visa queries also please. I have both an Aussie (I live in Sydney) and UK passports. Currently I am booked on a horse ride in Kyrgystan on 3rd July but am having problems getting a flight from Sydney to Bishkek. Therefore, will probably have to fly to Tashkent first. Then I plan after the ride (finished 20th July) to travel to Uzbekistan for a few weeks - tour company yet to be decided. I have read that because Australia has no representations, I can get visas on arrival. Can anyone out there help me please. | 3
